Short answer? Yes. A thousand times, yes. In fact, for the first 30 years of my life, I questioned it constantly. Even now, after I’ve fully committed my life to Jesus, I still catch myself wondering if I’m really on the right track. Can you relate?

My Journey From Doubt to Obedience

Let me back up a little. My story with God’s plan started before I was even born. When my mom was pregnant with me, it was prophesied that I’d grow up to share His word. Sounds incredible, right? Except for the longest time, I wanted nothing to do with that plan—or with God. I ran from Him, ran from my calling, and convinced myself that His word was something to hate.

But God didn’t give up on me. He never does.

In January of this year, my church started a fast. I hadn’t planned to join, but as I sat in church that morning, I felt God’s nudge—and y’all, when God raises His eyebrow at you, you listen. So I joined in. That week, something changed. As I replaced meals with time in His Word, I began to see scripture differently. I realized so much of what I thought I knew about the Bible wasn’t actually true. I fell in love with God’s Word in a way I never had before.

That’s when things started to shift. God made it clear that I was supposed to create a social media presence and use it to share His word. I resisted (because who doesn’t love a good excuse?), but eventually, I obeyed. One step of obedience led to another, and now here we are.

What I’ve Learned About Questioning God’s Plan

Let me be real with you—obedience doesn’t mean you stop questioning. There’s a huge misconception that if you love Jesus, it’s easy to trust Him with everything. Spoiler alert: it’s not. I still question His plans daily. I’m a control freak, and letting go is not my natural state of being.

But here’s the truth: God’s plan for your life is so much bigger than what you can see right now. That’s not just a feel-good cliché; it’s a reality I’ve come face-to-face with over and over again. Every time I’ve stepped out in obedience, God has met me there and opened doors I didn’t even know existed.

What About You?

Maybe you’re sitting there thinking, Okay, Karleigh, but what if I don’t know God’s plan for my life? First of all, take a deep breath. Chances are, you already have an idea of what God’s calling you to do. Whether it’s starting that business, writing that book, or simply reaching out to someone in love—you know the nudge. You’ve felt it.

But here’s the kicker: delayed obedience is still disobedience. Don’t let doubt or fear stop you from stepping into what God has for you. The best place for your life to be is in the hands of the One who created it.

You Were Made For This

You were created on purpose, for a purpose. God’s plan for your life isn’t random or accidental. It’s intentional, powerful, and designed to make an eternal impact. Will you trust Him with it? Even if you doubt, even if you wrestle with fear—bring it to Him. Take your questions, frustrations, and uncertainties straight to God. He’s the one with the answers.

  1. […] wait and that can be tough. It’s easy to wonder if He’s forgotten about us or if we missed the plan. But here’s the truth: God’s timing is always perfect, even when we don’t understand […]
