Motherhood is beautiful, exhausting, and relentless. It’s easy to let your faith take a backseat when you’re juggling diapers, homework, and dinner. But you don’t have to wait until life slows down to grow closer to God. In fact, some of the richest spiritual growth can happen right here, in the middle of the chaos.
Here are seven practical, grace-filled ways to stay grounded in your faith as a busy mom.
1. Start with Scripture (Even Just One Verse)
You don’t need an hour-long study to connect with God. Choose one verse a day. Write it on a sticky note, keep it on your lock screen, or tape it to the fridge. Let it be your anchor.
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

2. Pray Throughout the Day
You don’t need a quiet room and a candle to pray. Whisper prayers while folding laundry, driving, or rocking a baby. Prayer is a relationship, not a ritual.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “Pray without ceasing.”
3. Build a Worship Playlist
Keep worship music playing in the background as you go about your day. It shifts your heart posture and fills your home with truth.
Psalm 100:2 – “Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”
4. Invite Your Kids Into Your Faith
Let your kids see your walk with God. Pray with them. Read the Bible together. Let them see that Jesus matters in your everyday life.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 – “These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…”

My son absolutely loves The Action Bible! The dynamic, comic-book illustrations and action-packed storytelling sparked his excitement for the Bible like never before. If you’re looking for a powerful way to engage your child with Scripture, this is it!
5. Get in Community (Even Virtually)
Whether it’s a church group, a text thread, or a Bible study over Zoom, stay connected to other believers who can encourage you.
Hebrews 10:24–25 – “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… encouraging one another.”
6. Embrace Grace Over Guilt
You won’t always get it right. There will be days when you forget to read your Bible or snap at your kids. God’s grace covers it all. Keep coming back to Him.
2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
7. Set One Spiritual Goal Each Week
Instead of trying to do everything, focus on one thing each week. Maybe it’s reading one chapter of the Bible or memorizing one verse. Keep it simple and consistent.
Philippians 3:14 – “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
You don’t have to be a perfect mom to be a faithful one. God sees your heart. He walks with you in the mess and the mundane. Keep showing up. Keep leaning in. Faithfulness in the small things matters more than you know.
